1. Listening First
Spend time every day listening to English (BBC Learning English, YouTube clips, English songs).
The more you hear a word, the easier it becomes to pronounce.
2. Break Words into Syllables
Divide words into small parts.
Example: information = in-for-ma-tion
Practice each part slowly, then join them together.
3. Learn Mouth Position
Some English sounds don’t exist in Bengali:
"th" → Place your tongue between teeth and blow air (think, this).
"v" vs "b" → For "v" touch teeth to lips (very).
"r" → Strong in American English, lighter in British (car, water).
4. Stress & Intonation
Not all syllables get equal stress.
Example: phoTOgraph (stress on 2nd), phoTOgraphy (stress on 3rd).
Intonation rises ↑ in questions and falls ↓ in normal sentences.
5. Shadowing Technique
Play a short video/audio.
Speak together or repeat immediately after.
This helps improve speed and fluency.
6. Record & Compare
Record your own voice.
Compare with the original audio.
Identify differences and practice again.
7. Learn IPA Symbols (Optional but Helpful)
The International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) helps you read pronunciation in dictionaries.
Examples:
/kæt/ = cat
/ˈwɔːtə/ = water (UK)
8. Patience + Consistency
Pronunciation takes time.
Just 15–20 minutes of listening and speaking every day can make a big difference.
